      • My Beelink M8, which I bought in april 2015, runs Android 4.4.2, Build number 109k4 and Kernel version 3.10.33.
Can it be upgraded to at least Android 5?

      • Don’t do it. I have already bricked a device trying to update the OS. TV box manufacturer don’t offer OS upgrades.my suggestion is to try to sell your box on eBay and purchase a better TV box with Android 5.1

      • Dear Manuel,

Please remember to unplug the power adapter first, then replug it. Do NOT power up.

Then you can press and hold the restore button (inside the AV port hole). Then press Power button at the same time. After 5-10 seconds it will enter the firmware upgrade screen.

        thanks,

  4. Hello everyone
I have a problem concerning the flash. When i go recovery mode it says can’t mount dev/block/mmcblk0p21 (invalid Argument). If i try it with the update&backup APP, the update starts for a second but then the error is back. I have a 8 GB transcend and already formatted completely with the HP USB format tool. Anyone has a clue for me or had the same prob?

Besides my S82b getting always very slow after a time with very huge lagging during app change. I have about 70 apps installed and a live background on. I had to restore the box already 3 times within 3 days. Is it a common phenomenon concerning performance or might I received a bad examplar?

    Thanks for every help.

    • Same as Steven & Tony on my s82b KOT49h. 20140620 :

the S82b I bought from you had never been rooted, updated nor opened before but happened to not boot anymore being stuck on MBOX logo for hours. So after a month of readings & reboots, I have followed this tuto before doing anything else.

My µSD of 16GB was FAT32, I formatted to NTFS to put the three files, unplugged power and let it sleep for some minutes before plugging again while pushing tooth pick & power button for 10 sec. Once Recovery UI started, I go to “update from EXT”, SD card, it says cannot mount dev/block/mmcblk0p21 (invalid Argument).

I also tried with a USB card reader & the Udisk option, ….

When the SD was re-formated to FAT32, It finally could explore the SD, find the ZIP & upgrade to the end…. On reboot, the MBOX logo stayed nearly 5 minutes but finally got me to the 1st start setup ! youhou ! \o/

      1) Could you explain what are the other options “from ADB” & “from cache” for ?
      2) I was not able to test the USB OTG/Burning Tool method as my OTG plug is soldered too deep in the mbox and all microUSB cable I test are falling and not connecting at all….
      3) Strangely on the included Update&backup app Current version shown is 2.0.20130913 ! And in it, Online Update, is always rejected… Is it normal ?
      4) I also bought a RII mini i28 for this s82b, but its BT headphone function never worked as advertised (once switched on, the sound cannot be switch back to the HDMI)

  5. I also have a MBox S82B and keep trying to update the firmware to no success.
Have formatted card to NTFS, placed files directly on memory card, stuck paper-clip into AV port, pressed power button. Machine goes straight to system recovery screen.
Attempted to undertake through system process, machine finds file on card, begins process and then crashes to recovery screen.
I have also looked at performing the alternative method and that has stated that my computer is missing a dll file that will allow the process to take place.
Some direction on where I am going wrong would be very much appreciated.

  6. Hi all!
I tried today to update my S82B (16GB Version)
    Android: 4.4.2
    Kernel: 3.10.33 Oman@ubuntu #1
    Build #: 108k4
I downloaded the MBOX-S82-112K4-W2COMP-SDcard.zip file unpacked them to HDD.
Prepared the SD card by windows7, format NTFS
copied extracted files from HDD to SD (root directory)
If I start the flashing, a menu coming up, I choose updating from EXT -> updating from SD card – >
messeg coming up: E:mount /dev/block/mmcblock0p1 on /sdcard failed (no such file or directory), now try read-only to mount again …
I am not realy sure what is going wrong? Could somebody help me, please?
